Life can be so sweet...on the sunny side of the street...in Shrewsbury.

I made this drawing to celebrate my home town. I have lived here for twenty years now and come to love the meandering streets and shuts of the old town centre that lies within a loop of the River Severn. The street names are idiosyncratic and evocative of a long history. All the buildings are very varied and I have mixed them up which is the way it feels when you wander around the town. I've had fun trying out the drawing in different colours. Soon to be available online.

New Stamps

From geology to the present day
I spent a few happy days before Christmas making stamps for Shrewsbury Museum. It's such fun to make physical objects from scratch. My good friend Jean of Crafty Individuals kindly made the rubber sheets for us and we encountered a steep learning curve actually making them up, never having done this before! The designs are taken from my illustrations for the new Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery at present being constructed in the old Music Hall.  The new Museum is so exciting, incorporating as it does, so many ancient, beautiful and intriguing buildings. My illustrations represent the collections, also endlessly fascinating. They are designed to be used as icons on products, doors and banners. Here is one of the first, and tiniest, uses!
